Title Factors influencing Productivity Efficiency in Specific Manufacturing Industry: A Case Study on Indian Aluminium Sector
Authors RAY, DR. SARBAPRIYA
Abstract Abstract: This paper tries to recognize and investigate the dynamic factors responsible for total factor productivity growth of India’s aluminium industry during 1979-80 to 2008-09.  The econometric result suggests that explicit trade variables as well as macro economic variables have relevant significant impact on total factor productivity growth (TFPG) of this particular industry. The distinctive implication for Indian policymakers is the need to open up more to foreign imports, which will help to bring about institutional and technological progress favorable to TFP growth.
