Abstract Editorial Preface Special Issue on Nature Inspired Computing and their Applications (NICA) Tarun Kumar Sharma, Research Scholar, Department of Paper Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India   Welcome to the special issue, titled Nature Inspired Computing and their Applications (NICA), of the Advances in Mechanical Engineering and its Applications (AMEA) in 2012 published by World Science Publishers, United States. I on behalf of Editorial board of World Science Publishers invite our readers to enjoy all the valuable contributions sent by number of authors and which were carefully reviewed by the potential reviewers to give better shape and understanding to the papers.   Nature Inspired Computation has emerged as a powerful tool for solving intricate optimization problems, arising in various engineering design problems and now becoming center of attraction of many researchers and scientist. This special issue shall throw light on new developments and implementation of computational intelligence in the field of engineering.   There are only nine potential papers selected for the final publication in this special issue.
