Title Investigation of Distributed Generation Effects on the Voltage Profile and Power Losses in Distribution Systems
Authors Javanmardi, Omid; Nasri, Masoud; Sadeghkhani, Iman
Abstract Distributed generation is referred to generation in distribution level which is installed with substantial goals like reducing losses, increasing reliability, improving voltage and power quality, economical efficiency, etc. Along with the increase in many countries´s need for distributed generation, especially for villages far from cities, engineers are convinced to conduct research on evaluating and possibility assessment for this type of technology. In this paper, the advantages and disadvantages of using distributed generation and the necessity of its application are discussed. Later, a distribution network was simulated, a 2 MW-DG on one of network’s feeders was installed, and its effects on losses level and voltage profile are observed.
