Title Econometric Analysis of Industrial Performance in Electronic Industry of India
Authors RAY, DR. SARBAPRIYA
Abstract Abstract: The article attempts to evaluate productivity performance of Indian  electronics industry in terms of  total factor productivity growth  for the entire period, 1979-‘80 to 2008-‘09. The result on the overall productivity shows declining total factor productivity growth during post-reform period as compared to pre-reform period. The liberalization process is noticed to have its adverse impact on total factor productivity growth. The negative and significant impact of liberalization on productivity suggests that trade policy should focus on productivity enhancing industrial policies that will, in turn, help firm to enter export market after gaining real competitive edge.
