Abstract | Globally distributed teams can frequently have problems specifically related to the distance and differences among team members. This paper synthesizes literature related to globally distributed software development teams to find the factors that inhibit team success. This research indicates that cultural differences, trust, communication, shared mental models, temporal agility, and work transitions can all cause problems on globally distributed software development teams. Thisresearch can help both researchers and practitioners gain valuable insights on factors that can affect the performance of globally distributed teams. |
