Abstract | The switched reluctance motor (SRM) is gaining wider and wider application for its simple structure, low cost, reliability, controllability and high efficiency compared with the commonly-used permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). The overall performance of SRM relays on that of its control system. To overcome the disadvantages of the classical PID controller, an intelligent control system combining the PID algorithm and fuzzy logic is presented to meet the demand of the control system, and the SRM model is given in this paper. Simulation experiments have been carried out to test the performance of the fuzzy PID controller. The simulation results show that the compound fuzzy PID controller possesses better dynamic and static performance than the traditional PID controller and the fuzzy controller, and meets the performance requirements of the SRM control system. |
