Title Numerical and Analytical Modeling of Switched Reluctance Machines
Authors Li, Yuren; Zhang, Zhihui
Abstract Switched reluctance motor (SRM) has many specific advantages and has being gradually used in many kinds of applications. However, because it’s inherently multivariable, strong coupling and highly nonlinear, there are lots of difficulties to build its model. In this paper, the basic operating principle of SRM are briefly introduced firstly, and then numerical and analytical modeling methods are studied and compared in terms of complexity and accuracy. The static flux linkage and torque characteristics obtained by each method are given. The advantages and disadvantages of each method are summarized as well. Finally, based on the modeling methods, a dynamic simulation model of SRM drive system is built in Matlab/Simulink. The results of simulation and analysis in this paper are useful for performance evaluation of the SRM drive system.
