| Abstract | This special issue comprises of six selected papers from the WASE International Conference on Information Engineering (2009 ICIE), Shanxi, China, 10-11 July 2009. The conference received more than 1000 paper submissions from 12 countries and regions, of which 273 were selected for presentation after a rigorous review process. From these 273 research papers, through two rounds of reviewing, the guest editors selected six as the best papers on the computer network track of the Conference. The candidates of the Special Issue are all the authors, whose papers have been accepted and presented at the 2009 ICIE, with the contents not been published elsewhere before. The 2009 ICIE are sponsored by World Association of Science Engineering, Technical Co-Sponsors of the conference are University of London, Taiyuan University of Technology. “Investment Risks Assessment on High-tech Projects Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process and BP Neural Network”, by Hua Jiang, Junhu Ruan, combined Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) with BP Neural Network to establish a new and suitable risk assessment model of high-tech projects. “Design and Implementation of Anycast Services in Ad Hoc Networks Connected to IPv6 Networks”, by Xiaonan Wang, Huanyan Qian, proposes a communication model of implementing an Anycast service in an Ad Hoc network which is connected to IPv6 networks where IPv6 nodes can obtain the Anycast service provided by the Ad hoc network.“A Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization with Adaptive Local Search”, by Jun Tang, Xiaojuan Zhao, presents a hybrid PSO (AMPSO) to solve this problem by applying a novel adaptive mutation operator.“Research of Real-Time Wireless Networks Control System MAC Protocol”, by Shuai Xiao-ying, Zhang Zhen-chao, presented the new solution(limited and polling backoff, LPB) to solve the conflict, set conflict threshold, adopted different backoff algorithm of burst real-time data, improved the performance of real-time data and guaranteed the delay to keep the delay limited.“Population Migration Algorithm Description Method and Application Based on Unified Framework of Swarm Intelligence”, by Yongquan Zhou, Weiwei Zhang, Aijia Ouyang, describes the population migration algorithm based on a unified framework of swarm intelligence, as well as combination with chaos map, a chaos population migration and PMA for training RBF neural network algorithm are proposed. “The Comparision and Simulation of Ad Hoc Network Routing Protocol Based on NS2”, by Ya-qin Fan, Lin-zhu Wang, LiZhou, compare three common Ad-Hoc routing protocols, and AODV is much more suitable in Ad Hoc network.We are particularly grateful to David.
