Abstract | In this paper, we propose a novel communication scheme for real-time video transmission over wireless sensor network based on the virtual multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) and the network coding technology. According to the distinctive characteristic of real-time video data, the video transmission distortion, energy consumption and the end-to-end delay performance are analyzed with virtual MIMO transmission manner for our approach. The greedy algorithm is used to optimize the video distortion performance with the total energy and end-to-end delay constraints. For multiple video source application in wireless video sensor network, we propose a virtual MIMO with network coding technique scheme to improve the network throughput performance and reduce end-to-end delay effectively. From the simulation results, our approach can get better distortion performance than the traditional manner when the intra cluster distance is set to be appropriate relative to the inter cluster distance. |
