Abstract | Educators and students are used to the delivery of instruction through the subject or the disciplinary approach. Teachers and researchers are today arguing for the use of more than one discipline to teach or clarify a concept or an issue by bringing forth the relationship and the contribution of various disciplines for a better understanding of the topic, theme or the content under study. This is not necessary an easy task. English Teaching requires a multidisciplinary curriculum which goes beyond what is traditionally offered by educators and trainers .It requires syllabus designers to design a course that includes information that incorporate study of history, religion, politics business, communication, and other sciences. This study also builds a rationale for the use of the multidisciplinary curriculum to instruction in Sudanese Institutions. Finally, this paper includes discussion of material and method from the author’s own experience in incorporating a multidisciplinary approach in a conduct of a language class. |
