Title Promoting Noticing in EFL Classroom
Authors Zhang, Sumin
Abstract The notion of noticing and its role in SLA has gained increasing support. As an area of special interest and a common concern in EFL teaching process, the study of this will yield beneficial implications. The paper expounds its related termonology in order to shed more light on its concept, discusses the assumptions denying and advocating the role of noticing in SLA, and overviews the a few empirical studies. An attempt is also made in the paper to explore the theoretical justification underlying the role of noticing from the cognitive point of view as well as to better understand its pedagogical implications in language teaching process.
