Title Measuring Collaboration in Educational Wikis – A Methodological Discussion
Authors Meishar-Tal, Hagit; Tal-Elhasid, Edna
Abstract Measuring the collaboration in collaborative learning scenarios is important for assessment and research purposes. This paper describes the methodology developed in the Open University of Israel (OUI) to measure collaboration among students in wikis. It opens with an overview of the methods used to measure collaboration in Wikipedia, proceeds with explaining why these methods are not suitable enough for measuring collaboration in an educational wiki setting, and concludes by presenting a new method for measuring collaboration in educational wikis.
