Abstract | Rauvolfia serpentina an endangered medicinal plant was chosen for in vitro propagation using modified MS medium. Genetic fidelity study of the regenerated plants were analysed with 18 ISSR markers. A total of 159 monomorphic bands were obtained; one ISSR marker HB-12 showed a polymorphic band among the callus regenerants. The specific polymorphic fragment was then gel eluted, cloned and sequenced. |
